Processing of special categories of personal data and criminal convictions - Appropriate policy document

In the course of an investigation, Police Scotland and COPFS may wish to gain evidence from sensitive personal records. This policy helps assess the need and basis for recovery. It also explains when the policy should and should not be applied.

This document is a requirement under the Data Protection Act 2018 for any organisation that processes sensitive personal data, criminal conviction data, or process data if it is held for law enforcement purposes.
