Hate Crime in Scotland, 2023-24

This publication provides details of hate crimes reported to COPFS in Scotland in 2023-24 and earlier years.

This document covers crimes aggravated by race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, and transgender identity. It also provides information on relevant legislation, definitions and related publications.

The next publication, covering 2024-25, is due to be published in June 2025. This will be the first publication to include information on crimes reported under the Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act 2021 which came into effect on 1 April 2024. The exact date of publication will be announced nearer the time.
