Two men who stabbed a stranger to death at a party after a drugs and alcohol binge have been jailed for life and seven years and three months respectively.
Scott Hector, 20, died after being attacked at a flat in Aberdeen’s Marischal Court in April 2021 .
Sean O’Halloran (20) pleaded guilty to murder and Connor Adams (18) admitted an amended charge of culpable homicide at a hearing last month at the High Court in Edinburgh.
The pair also admitted conspiring to rob the victim.
O’Halloran, of Aberdeen, was today sentenced to life in prison, with a punishment part of 11 years and eight months, and Adams, also of Aberdeen, was jailed for seven years and three months.
At a hearing last month, the court was told O’Halloran stabbed Mr Hector on the body once with a knife and stole a small quantity of drugs from the flat.
Deborah Demick, Deputy Head National Homicide Team of the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS), said: “We have heard from Scott’s family the devastating impact his murder has had on them.
“Sean O’Halloran and Conor Adams carried out a violent, unprovoked attack on Scott.
“The consequences of this crime on this family have been enormous, through no fault of Scott's and our thoughts are with them.”
